ABC Co-Owner leads Detroit landscapes
Jiquanda Johnson, Co-Owner of ABC Co. Landscaping, takes the lead in business matters but also cares about the environment and enjoying nature.
"I love going camping," she said. "I guess it's my perfect excuse to not stay so busy."
Johnson values clean air and water, nutrient rich soil, and natural settings. And the knowledge to achieve that is the same service and consultation ABC gives its clients.
Once a startup business, ABC expertly mowed lawns. Now, seven years later, we do that and then some. We improve green sustainability in urban spaces, remodel to create pleasing contours in residential landscapes, and install green infrastructures.
Johnson is also a champion for environmental health in the Black community. And supporting ABC means that you support the same. Johnson is also the Founder and Owner of Brown Impact Media Group, a publishing company; Flint Beat, an Emmy award-winning news agency, and Black Like Us, a social media chronicle of America's professional diversity.

Ways We Can Help EarthBy JAKAYLA MYLER/Green Contributor
Everything around us is made from the Earth. The Earth is our environment and to take care of our environment we have to not be wasteful and be careful with what we do. When leaving a room you should turn off the light but when you come back you can turn it back on if you please. If you have devices like iPad or tablets, phones and laptops and they have chargers unplug them from the outlet while you are not charging it, Plug them back in only to charge. Something else you could do to help the Earth is to recycle, it could help more and it is productive.
