The dirt on sandy soilSandy soil, one of six soil types, is light because of its high composition of sand and low clay, which weighs more than sand. Sandy soil is most often acidic and low in nutrients. It is dry and warm and drains water fast. Sandy soil also warms up faster in spring than other soils but will dry out fast in hot weather and can easily be washed away by rain. A good tip is to spread mulch over the surface to help the soil stay moist and retain water.

Tarps are back saversTarps come in handy when you need to haul leaves. Compared to a standard 30-gallon leaf bag, a large tarp can haul as much as 5 times more. And not only leaves but weeds, brush and wood chip mulch. And they are great as lawn or bed covers to catch your messy debris when shaping shrubs and hedges.
